Self Study Worksheet and Application The aim of the self-study worksheet/application is to provide practical assistance to those who seek accreditation on behalf of their psychoanalytic institutes. The Standards of Psychoanalytic Education, which are also posted on this site, is set forth in Part I of this worksheet in its entirety – but with questions interpolated. We hope that this will support a focused process of thoroughgoing self-study, leading to the identification of areas of excellence as well as areas where a psychoanalytic institute should reasonably work to make improvements. When the worksheet is completed, it will form one of the application documents that will be evaluated by the ACPE Review Committee in connection with a possible site visit and eventual accreditation. Beyond its concern that core standards are achieved, the Council also requires assurance that such accomplishment is supported by a sturdy and sustainable institutional structure. Part II of this self-study worksheet/application addresses this concern. Part II seeks, among other matters, a sense of the legal, economic, and organizational structure of the institute and an understanding of how the standards explored in Part I are operationalized.
